1) Cardioprotective Effects
To verify the efficacy of CoQ10 co-loaded liposomes, researchers from the Targeted Drug Delivery Laboratory, School of Pharmacy, Southwest University used C57BL/6 mice and induced myocardial injury via isoprenaline (ISO) injection to simulate a human cardiac injury model. The mice were randomly divided into multiple groups, including the control group, ISO model group, ordinary liposome group, ginsenoside liposome group, CoQ10-ginsenoside co-loaded liposome group, and CoQ10 soft capsule group. The experiment used multiple techniques such as echocardiography, serum marker detection, and oxidative stress marker testing to comprehensively evaluate the cardioprotective effects of different treatment groups.

Note: The experiment was conducted over 21 days, with ISO injection on Day 0 and treatment intervention from Day 0 to Day 21.
The experimental results showed that the cardiac function of mice in the ISO model group significantly decreased, manifested by a significant reduction in left ventricular ejection fraction (EF) and fractional shortening (FS). After intervention with CoQ10-ginsenoside co-loaded liposomes, these indicators were significantly improved, with effects superior to those of commercially available CoQ10 soft capsules. This indicates that CoQ10 co-loaded liposomes can not only effectively reverse the impairment of cardiac function but also provide more durable and significant protective effects.
Further serum analysis found that the levels of ISO-induced myocardial injury markers, such as cardiac troponin I (cTnI) and B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP), increased significantly. However, CoQ10 co-loaded liposomes could significantly inhibit the increase in these markers, demonstrating their significant role in improving myocardial injury. In addition, the detection results of oxidative stress markers (such as malondialdehyde (MDA) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH)) also showed that CoQ10 co-loaded liposomes could effectively alleviate oxidative stress responses and reduce cell membrane damage, further verifying their cardioprotective effect.

2) Anti-inflammatory Effects
The experiment also examined the regulatory effect of CoQ10 on cardiac inflammation. The study found that the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (such as IL-6, IL-1β, and TNF-α) in the serum of mice in the ISO group increased significantly, while CoQ10 co-loaded liposomes could significantly reduce the levels of these cytokines, indicating its significant advantage in anti-inflammation. In particular, compared with commercially available CoQ10 soft capsules, CoQ10 co-loaded liposomes showed a stronger effect in inhibiting the inflammatory response.
